Part used :Aerial part, seeds, bark and root leaf. i. Distribution: Bengal, Assam, Orissa, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Kerala
Uses: Used for the treatment in diabetis, cough, liver diseaes, ulcers, wounds, anemia, low blood pressure, urinary problem, constipation

Uses: Traditonally the rhizome is used as fish poison, on cuts and inhaled for headaches. It is also used for heart, liver and lung problems. Paste of fresh rhizome is used on swollen and dislocated bones

With the vision of conservation, management, value addition, etc., of Illicium griffithii commonly known as lishi awareness program was conducted with the villagers & students of Sera Village, Bomdila with the collaborative efforts like; Dr. Tenzing Dema, RO,Botany, SMPB Arunachal Pradesh, Dr. Lanusunep, Dy. Director, & Mr. Jamini Mohan Gogoi, Technical Officer (Marketing), RCFC-NER, CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat, Mr. Sangey, Mongyul Charitable Society Bomdila. Apart from these other resource persons like Ms Pema working in Japan in the field of livelihood training and Mr. Mark from Netherland, Owener of software company was also present to help the community by any possible means.
We understand the potential of this natural resource & can do lots of improvements to enhance the economic benifits.
Recognition is also to be aimed as we have this treasure (Illicium) which is not so abundant elsewhere in the country.
